wish i knew wot either of those meant Democrats, who are called liberals, want a stronger federal government because they think government can help people by being active in society. Republicans, who are called conservatives, want a weaker federal government because they think that government is only a necessary evil.

either deregulation or excessive government bureaucracy results in the same thing: Unchecked and often invisible corruption.
The unchecked free market obviously destroys the poor, because the wealthy can rent-seek as much as they want, exploiting an uneducated poor.
On the other side of the coin: Fiscal spending designed to redistribute wealth also often ends up benefiting the rent-seeking bureaucracy, not the poor. As taxes rise, so too does the opportunity for TAX EVASION, which benefits the rich much more than it does the poor. "social projects" (ostensibly to help the poor) may just be a front for the bureaucratic elite to get paid.
In the end: it is very hard to design as system in which the poor don't get fucked. And if you're either either uber liberal, or on the far right, you're an idiot.
